Martin Luther: Reason is a Whore
Переглядів 1,3 тис.6 місяців тому
Martin Luther referred to human reason as a "whore." While some have labeled him anti-rational, they could not be more wrong. In this video, Jeffrey K. Mann, PhD (Professor of Religious Studies, Susquehanna University) discusses what exactly Luther meant by this obnoxious rhetoric. Luther's discussion of the whorishness of reason overlaps considerably with what contemporary psychologists call "...

I'm getting more and more high tech! New camera for this one. :)
Cada vez me convenzo más de que el único estilo de Karate Do de fantasía es el Shotokan. Aquí una muestra del Karate Do real, del que si sirve: el Goju Ryu.
This is Kudo Daido Juku, not Goju Ryo
Isn't it Kudo? The headgear is Kudo's headgear..play ground like Kudo It's almost like Kudo.
Where does Kudo come from? What's Kudo ancestry, aren't the origins of Kyokushin in Go-Ju and Shorin-ryu?
looks like Kudo or MMA in Karate-Gi with helmets
What's the meaning of MMA?.... If you bothered to read the history of karate or Okinawa-Te, you would find out that karate was the original MMA. Ryukyu karate's origins are in a mixture of different styles at the time, taking from indigenous grappling styles, jujutsu from the Satsuma clan, and different boxing methods of kung-fu. Which these last ones might have included grappling methods from shuai-jiao (chinese wrestling)... Karate at one time was described as a grappling with strikes style, or method.
Its a crap
In the end, it's MMA. It's like KUDO
Although Kudo today is promoted as MMA, it's just karate being applied to its full range of techniques. Any old book or text about karate, shows that karate was just like any other type of jujutsu. The difference being that karate originated from Okinawa (Ryu-kyu kingdom). Which at the time wasn't a fully integrated part of Japan, but a protectorate of the Satsuma samurai clan.
@@tatumergo3931 So, before de coming of the samurais, was karate from Okinawa like Kudo? Were ground techniques part of it?
@@sebastianbenitez2124. One of the major problems today in karate is understanding and deciphering the meanings of the kata's movements. The modern applications usually shown can easily be recognized as ineffective and impractical. Therefore a lot of research is being done and has been done to understand the true meaning of kata movements. When these kata movements were compared to grappling techniques, it quickly became evident that the katas symbolized grappling techniques. As a matter of fact the movements became quite easily to apply. If we took into context the time at which karate was developed, we would realize that grappling was the preferred method of fighting. For at the time people wore armor and striking techniques solely would have been ineffective. Therefore karate much like ancient kung-fu was predominantly a method of grappling with strikes. Also previously to karate creation and development the okinawans already had a wrestling system known as Tegumi, similar in concept to Japanese sumo wrestling. The ancestral art of yawara and jujutsu. It was in the late 19th century and early 20th century, when karate was introduced to Japan, that karate took a turn and became predominantly a striking art. As per mandate of the imperial government for Japan to have a representative style of boxing to compete against European styles like English boxing and French Savate (kickboxing). So yes the origins of karate are an eclectic mix of many different styles and methods. P.S. Grappling in the ground to the extent to which is done today is a relatively modern thing, more associated with sports than with actual battlefield combat. In the environment of battlefield combat, going to the ground to fight someone would have been deadly to either of the combatants. There would have been more emphasis on unbalancing and throwing to the ground the opponent, to quickly dispatching him.
Nothing to add to that! I do think however, that the people suddenly advocating for the rights of Palestinians and against the government of Israel, are really just anti-Semites using the current "anti-Israel climate" as a cover-up. Because where were all these protests for peace, when Israel was attacked by the Hamas?
israel is not a country
A small group of 'allies' has played both sides against the middle
Well said.
After an eternity of priviledge, equality will feel like oppression.
Stop it. Protesting has always been part of Universities.
He's an idiot that's using the DEI buzzword, did you really expect a coherent take?
but they are being used by foreign agents and provocateurs.
What weren't they bouncing???
Because in full-contact karate there's no bouncing. That's just something shiai sport-karate does to develop dynamism, since sport karate is a game of touch and not about effective technique. In full-contact karate you need to be grounded, otherwise you just get thrown around like a rag doll...
This is a disaster 😣
It was not perfect, but in what sense is this a disaster?
slay
Woah that’s crazy!
Very educational!
Отвратительные удары руками и никакой защиты головы
Where is karate ?
Это кудо
Kudo comes from kyokushin, which comes from Goju ryu.
That seems to be daido juku (kudo) gi, helmet and stance.
Si esto es karate Goju, no se que estuve practicando en estos últimos 6 años?
¡Algo que tu maestro no tenía conocimiento de!
Fallen Mankind with distorted thinking to self deception and self destruction and to others too,

El arte ancestral de Kudo es Go-Ju ryu.
Good shit❤
Is this Daido-Juku Kudo?
Daido Juko Kudo comes from Go-Ju ryu.... It's the ancestral art of kyokushin.
This is awesome 👍
> heard a woman say that the best thing about being a woman is not having to convince people you are one
Not all trans are predators but predators will do anything to gain access to women including dressing up as women to gain access to women's spaces
It's street beef 😂
Karate was created for the streets, it was never meant for tournaments!
Just admit the entire transgenderism taxonomy is a TOTAL CULT IDEOLOGY. they want to compel mass delusion, yet, they have zero compelling scientific evidence.
Humans CANNOT be “trans”, as we are a binary mammal species. People who BELIEVE they are “trans”, is fine, but U cannot compel your PERSONAL BELIEFS on others. Stop injecting kids with synthetic drugs that destroy their natural bodies!!!! Some issues are VERY SIMPLE.
This is the best 'take' on the situation I have yet heard.
Thank you. Feel free to pass it on. :)

O, how I miss practicing GoJu Ryu. 💔
Why isn’t this viral?
Please don't use the term cis.
Why do you have a problem with that word? Just wondering.
Wow. 🎉 Yes. Its like everyone has forgotten what we should have learned in kindergarten.
Recap 1) Current discussions on transgender issues are divisive and lack nuance. 2) Respectful dialogue is needed instead of polarizing rhetoric. 3) Treat individuals with dignity regardless of gender identity. 4) Acknowledge the complexity of transgender issues and avoid simplistic solutions. 5) Advocate for critical thinking and open debate, especially in academic settings. 6) Engage in compassionate but critical dialogue, avoiding pandering or condescension.
I’m with you man! Sucks being critical but empathetic/nuanced, we’re far and few between.
Thanks for your comment. But I don't know... I think a lot of folks want to find that balance. We just hear more from the ones who overreact.
I think it has all to do with politics and capitalism. Politicians want the gay vote so they come up with pro gay initiatives. The medical industry see a opportunity to make lots of money. And now society has to deal with the mess they created. It looks like this could cost democrats the election..yes they got the gay vote.. but the population had enough of liberals pleasing the gay community and gays going agressively after those who speak negative of them. Basically the democrates have become extreme just like the repubicans at this point so one might as well vote for Trump. Few years oga i was worried about that now i see it is a choice between crazy and crazy.
See Better fights in highschool yards 🤣🤣🤣😛
Nice Nice!

Шляпа какая то

I'm rewatching this, and yeah, when you can punch as hard as a Gojuryu fighter is supposed to punch if they've been trained correctly, the bullet-proof glass on the face is necessary for sparring, otherwise you'd break one another's nose or jaw every time you punched them.
Without proper safety equipment protection, applying karate full-contact is dangerous. Real karate training is about the knock down one punch or strike method (Ikken Hissatsu)!
@@tatumergo3931 Yes. I studied Isshinryu for six years and used to do a couple hundred push-ups per day. when I was 20 years old I had a 1000 pound punch. You hit someone that hard in the face bare knuckle and it will break something in just one hit.
